- Welcome
Currently, General Electric employs many field technicians who install, calibrate, and test generator turbines using the 3500 rack system. This rack system is modularized and can support many different types of sensors. All of the sensors relay data into a server which is then read by software called System1®. Since each 3500 rack unit is unique to the turbine and no two are alike, it is very time consuming to acquire specific cables for each rack/sensor, test them, and finally make sure everything has been installed correctly.

We propose to build an entirely new application for a mobile platform to better help each field technician find the correct cable, test to make sure the rack unit is installed properly, as well as offering the ability to balance the rotor shaft directly from the unit itself. This application will reduce labor hours, help improve efficiency, and make the job of installing a 3500 rack system much easier.
